(Willie Purdee) "Everything Costs"
"Free"… we really like that word when shopping or trying to find an item. We all like free stuff, but the reality is that nothing is free. Everything costs someone something. We are going to look at an event out of the life of David. We are going to see what pride cost David and the nation of Israel. Then we will see what it cost God for us to be reconciled to Him.

(Willie Purdee) "Looking For An Opportunity To Serve"
God has called all people to become His followers and along with that calling we are told we need to serve. This worship service is very special because Justin Shimer is being ordained as a Deacon to serve here at Central Christian. God has given several areas of ministry/service in His church and we will consider these areas and ways others are ministering and ways you might be able to serve.

(Ken Vaughn) "God's Calling"
Today’s message is aimed at urging the Lord’s Church to renew its commitment in fulfilling the awesome duty of helping the Lord extend His call to the world. The opening passage is from Daniel 12:1-3, especially verse 3 which states: (NIV) “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness like the stars for ever and ever.”

The scripture text for today’s message is taken from Daniel 12:1-3.

(Willie Purdee) "Do What To My Enemies?"
Jesus taught some very hard commands to live out. Loving our enemies is probably one of the hardest, if not the most difficult of all. We are going to look at some reasons that we are to love and care for our enemies and consider some examples from the Bible.

(Willie Purdee) "Shipwrecked - Rescued By God"
There are numerous sayings or idioms in the English language that come from the Bible. "Nothing but skin and bones," is an example that was stated in the book of Job. There are others that we think are in the Bible like, "God moves in mysterious ways", but are not. What we mean by God moving mysteriously, we are saying God is doing something we did not see coming. Today we are going to look at what we do know about God.

(Willie Purdee) "God Reveals Himself To Searching Hearts"
I love Christmas time and I really love our Christmas in July service and sermon. This sermon focuses on the Wise Men, or Magi (kings from the east), who were Gentiles that traveled to Jerusalem and then on to Bethlehem in search of a Jewish infant to worship. You talk about an out of the place story – this is it. God has a great way of centering in on the uncommon. The Wise men sought Jesus and they found him. We may do the same if we seek Him.

(Willie Purdee) "Reminders Of Our Freedom"
On the Fourth of July we will celebrate 242 years of our independence from England. As Americans we are proud of our freedom, but it is easy to forget what a struggle those early leaders and colonists went through as we enjoy our life today. We are going to be looking back into our history to see what blessings we have received along with looking back into the Bible to see what blessings we have received from God.

The idea of setting an example is of utmost importance to the parent/child relationship and we will look at how that is best done.

The source of something is incredibly important. Particularly, when speaking of a source of a river, creek or possibly a spring, especially if is the only source around, it is very important to protect it. The heart, according to the writer of Proverbs, states this is true of the heart. We must guard it with all diligence. We will look at why we have to guard our heart and ways to do so.

(Willie Purdee) "Suicide"
This is the 17th and final message in the “You Asked For It?” sermon series. This is also one of the hardest to preach about because it is on suicide. When I address this subject, I will not be considering how feelings or what beliefs we may have on the subject, because feeling/beliefs are deceptive and what really matters is what God says. We will be looking at a lot of different scriptures and if you want we can provide you a study sheet that was given with the sermon.

We will look at what happened to the nation of Israel and Judah when they did not obey the Lord and compare that with some of the things that are going on in the United States today.

A hot button topic in our culture is homosexuality. Fortunately, the Bible has spoken on the issue and that really settles it, just as the Bible has spoken on any sexual immorality, liars, thieves, etc... This is sermon #15 in the” You Asked For It?” sermon series. We will not only consider what the Bible says about homosexuality but also how we might reach someone caught up in this lifestyle.

We want our children to grow up and be godly people. A mother's time and attention are some of the greatest results of that end. A mother is kind, compassionate and caring and children see that lived out and live it out in their own lives. We will look at the life of Timothy to see what he was taught and saw in this grandmother and mother.

This is sermon #14 in the “You Asked For It?” sermon series and the question I received is, "Did Adam have a first wife named Lilith?" I will be considering this question along with a couple of others that are typically asked about Cain. The thing to always remember is that everything always begins and ends with God. If we have any other beginning and ending point then we will land in the wrong place.

(Willie Purdee) "After You Die? Then What?"
Today’s message is the 13th in our “You Asked For It” sermon series. Tim Keller in his book, "The Reason For God", states if we choose to live without God in this life, He will allow it. God lets us have free will in choosing to follow Him or not. We must also remember when we die, it is simply a continuation of life. If you choose not to follow God this side of death, then God will not be part of your afterlife either. In Luke 16 we read about such a man and what happened to him.

(Willie Purdee) "Everybody Goes To Heaven?"
Today is the 12th message in our “You Asked For It” sermon series. If you ask most anyone, if they will go to heaven when they die, the normal response is, "Of course!" I have also never read an obituary that the deceased did not go to heaven. But, if everyone goes to heaven, then why did Jesus come to earth? We will look at who is not allowed into heaven, based on the Bible and what we must do to go to heaven.

The toy company Hasbro isn’t the only one interested in the matter of experiencing transformation. This sermon looks at Romans 12: 1 – 2 with the desire to understand the concept of spiritual discipline that brings about something more than just a change, but instead, there is a transformation. It should be our desire to become more like Christ and allow His Spirit to work in us.
The scripture text for today’s message is taken from Romans 12:1-2.

Our guest speaker for today is Danny Evans. Danny is a native of Middleport, Ohio, a graduate of Kentucky Christian College, and has been in Christian ministry for 48 years. Probably the most common question that is asked in life is “WHY?” Why did this thing happen or why did that thing happen or why did so and so do what they did? What was the purpose? We will consider why did Jesus resurrect from the grave? We will try to find the answer and that answer has a huge impact on all of our lives.

Today is the 11th message in our “You Asked For It” sermon series. God desires for His church to grow. We can read verse after verse in the Bible that teaches us this truth. So, if God wants His church to grow, what is something that we can do to help it grow? We will be studying from Romans 16 and looking at the importance of greeting one another. Greeting one another is not hard or complicated, but a much overlooked method of caring for others.

Today is the 10th message in our “You Asked For It” sermon series. What does it take to be a part of a family? Typically you are born into a family and many are adopted. We are going to look at how to become a part of God's family and the importance of church. So many people are looking for something more in life and God has given us the answer to that yearning question in His Son Jesus Christ and how that faith is lived out in His body – the church.

What is the most important event in history? I believe it is unequivocally the return of Jesus Christ. His return will affect everyone that has ever lived. EVERYONE! That is amazing when you think about it. The Bible states that all living and dead will stand before His throne. This is the ninth message in our “You Asked For It” sermon series and today we are going to look at what His return means to us.

We continue our "You Asked For It Series" with the eighth message. The Apostle Paul says in Hebrews 5 that repentance is an elementary teaching of the Bible. Being repentant means to turn around and go the opposite way, plain and simple. Paul also states that we must move past this elementary teaching to something more – something with more meat. We will look at what repentance is and is not, and then move to the something more that Paul writes about.

(Willie Purdee) "The Importance And Power Of Forgiveness"
This is the seventh message in our “You Asked For It” sermon series and the question submitted was concerning forgiveness. Forgiving someone of doing us wrong is probably one of the hardest things to do in life. It is easy to hold onto bitterness, anger and seething hatred of someone. As a matter of fact, it becomes somewhat of a friend we can find solace in. We are going to see that God has forgiven us and we in turn need to forgive others, even when we don't want to.

In this message, we will examine what the Bible says and teaches on the subject overall and try to limit it to that alone. We should remember that our opinions are simply our opinions and God’s word is the ultimate authority in all matters.

How do we reach others for Christ? That is the mission of the church and every Christian. This question was given to me by a church member for our “You Asked For It” sermon series. The reaching is and doing is not so hard, I believe where we should start is grace. If we realize everyone is in need of grace, we will have the right place to reach other.

(Willie Purdee) "What Does God Look Like?"
A question that was submitted for our current “You Asked For It” sermon series was, “What does God look like?” The short answer is the Bible does not describe God's physical appearance. God is spirit and He is described by His character instead of appearance. The word that most often defines God is holiness. In this message we are going to look and see exactly what this means to us and to God.

We have to have a starting point to know where we are going and we start with God. So, what does God say is our purpose in life? We will look at scripture and see what is most important in life.
