Guidelines for filling:

Buy canned foods with pull rings when available for easy opening or include small handheld can openers. Suggested food items for the Blessing Box during most of the year:
Some items may be compromised during winter months. Note the asterisk items * may not be recommended during temperatures below freezing
  • canned soups & sauces *
  • canned meat (tuna, chicken, etc) *
  • peanut butter, nuts, & alternatives (almond, sunflower seed, coconut, etc)*
  • canned beans (garbanzo, chili, & baked)
  • rice
  • pasta (in boxes)
  • cereals/ instant oatmeal packets
  • crackers/ granola bars
  • canned tomatoes, tomato sauce & paste*
  • canned fruits & vegetables *
  • condiments
  • jelly, syrup
  • baking and pancake mixes
  • microwave meals/ to-go meals and shelf-stable kits
  • individual serving size items
  • infant formula, dry infant cereal
  • packaged protein drinks
  • dried fruit
